Excel 2007 : How to get number of characters matching in two strings starting from left ?

hi,

I want match number of charters in two strings starting from the left for example :-

"Excel forum"
"Excel master"

having 5 characters i.e Excel

Welcome to the forum.

On your example, would there be always a space between first word and second word?
