    Help populating a tournament bracket/drawsheet

I need to fill in many tournament drawsheets and want to use Excel to help the process. I'm using Excel 2007 and don't know much about using the program other than a few simple formulas.

I have it set up where I can copy a list of players from one column. I then use the players names in that column to populate the drawsheet in the correct cells.
    Basic example:
I place the list of players in A1-A128
I place "=A1" in cell B12 (where the player in A1 should be in the tournament drawsheet)
I place "=A2" in cell B572 (where the player in A2 should be in the tournament drawsheet)
    etc...
(mine is slightly more complicated than that, but this will serve as a good example to point out the issue I'm having)

The problem I need to resolve is I'd like to send this drawsheet without the list of players in A1-A64 showing and still have the drawsheet correctly show the players in the correct cells (spots in the drawsheet). Obviously, the way I'm doing it, as soon as I delete the list of players in A1-A128, all the players in the drawsheet are also deleted as they are just being copied from A1-A128.

Is there any way to copy the populated drawsheet (section of the excel spreadsheet) so I can use it with the names in the correct cells even without the list in A1-A128 showing on the excel spreadsheet?

    Thanks in advance!!!

    FFRLLC,

    Welcome to the forum!

You have a couple of options. You could simply hide column A (Right-click column A and select Hide). That will make it so column A isn't visible, but other cells can still pull the necessary data from it.

You could also select the populated drawsheet, copy, and then right-click > Paste Special > Values. That will replace the formulas with their values so it is no longer dependent on column A. You would probably want to make a copy of the sheet and do this to the copy so you can preserve the formulas in the original worksheet for use with later tournament draws.
    Hope that helps,
