Optimum hardware and software to accommodate close to a million rows??
    Hi everyone

    - I have a large excel file that 600,000 rows (x 40 columns)
    - The file may grow to about 800-900K in rows.
    - I would like to be able to use formulas on one column at a time.

My question is with regards to the best hardware and software to use to accommodate such a large file?

Ie. dual core , excel 2007 versus 2010, any other specs that will allow me to work with this file in the fastest way possible.

    Thank you in advance

    Rob

    Hi,

There was a recent thread with a similar question. You might be interested in my suggested response.

Also be careful with volatile formulas because these could be killer with this much data.

    Hope this helps.
