Excel Chart Help, Merging Some But Not All Overlapping Series (pictures inside)

I can make this in excel using overlapping bars for the different series Untitled2.jpg but I want to create this Untitled.jpg by closing the gap between some of the bars and putting them all under the same category. The name part is optional but I have to be able to close that gap.

    Hi floyd,

Welcome to the forum and have a great year ahead.

One quick way could be ->right click on the bar-> choose format data series -> go to options tab and adjust the Overlap and width parameters. Now after obtaining the required gap, you can put text boxes on the original x-axis labels to hide the bar names.
Post your sample file, in case of any issue.

The problem is that I have already set the overlap hence the red in the images on the blue bar. Am I able to adjust the overlap for each individual series? If so how?

You can do that by placing 2 of the 4 series on the secondary axis.
To alter the legend delete to of the entries.

If you actually want a gap between the columns set the overlap to -10%

Thanks! The secondary axis was exactly what I needed.
