    specific addition

    I need to set each cell in a column to sum two cells on its row. Such that each cell in column d is the sum of specific cells in its row.

    it is a long list and I would like to not type make the equation for every cell.

    In D1, enter =a1+c1 and copy down. The formula will adjust.

    Maybe

    In D1: =A1+C1
    In D2: =A2+C2
    In D3: =A3+C3

    Other option would be to put

    =SUM(A1,C1)

    in D1 and drag down as shg as suggested.
