Cutting too-tall formula bar down to (normal) size

When I open Excel 2010, the formula bar appears about 6 times as tall as normal. I have not been able to find any way to reset it to normal size. I have tried grabbing and dragging the divider between the formula bar and column header row without success.

The first time this occurred, the cells of the worksheet were also larger than normal. I was able to correct this, but the formula bar is taking up a big part of my screen.
