    Question Finding Median in Series of Numbers for Specific Records

    How to find out median for the specific data, with a series of values given in below table

    complete 50
    complete 23
    complete 24
    complete 24
    complete 28
    complete 50
    complete 23
    complete 24
    reject 24
    complete 28
    complete 50
    complete 23
    complete 24
    reject 24
    complete 28

    for example: median of only complete data and same vice sa versa even reject. median value required in the number series

    Text to column separate text and values, and copy and paste this formula

    {=MEDIAN((A2:A19="complete"),B2:B19)} Hit Ctrl + Shift + Enter to enter array formula

    For this to work correctly you need to use IF, i.e.

    =MEDIAN(IF(A2:A19="complete",B2:B19))

    confirmed with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER
