Smile Get data to move leftward with dates that are above.

In row 3 of a sheet I have a date series that is defined by a =today() funtion.

In row 4 I have an engine serial number that defines the data in rows 5:15.

What I would like to do is to have the serial number attached to, or to move leftward as the date above it changes.

For example I enter the engine serial number "1234" underneath the date 05/11/11. Tomorrow the date above "1234" will have moved leftward and "1234" will be underneath the wrong date.

I usually find what I need by searching this forum but for this problem i can't see a previous thread.

Ah, have solved this problem using a data entry field and hlookup function.
