Count row number and populate column with count number
I need to prepare data for printing and to determine the page numbers I need to know how many instances occur for an account number and populate in the next column. Example is below
Account_No Count
152804 1
153486 1
155916 1
156167 1
157162 1
157343 3
157343 3
157343 3
161611 2
161611 2
162507 1
163000 1
I have tried using the count function but I get incorrect results
Please help
In B1, then copied down:
=COUNTIF(A:A, A1)
