    filtering a list from another list

    Hi,

    OK, so, i have two lists on the same worksheets. One list was hand typed and the other is pulled from an access DB. The shorter hand typed list has references that are on the DB list although some of the refs are not exact matches. I need to match the DB list to the short list. So far i am using the formula below;

    HTML Code:
    Where column D is the long list and 'MMLIST' is the short list. (i have also attached the file). When the formula gets to the first match it seems to register the "Match" but then goes on to register everything as a match. Can anybody help, as always would be very grateful!

    Re: filtering a list from another list

    if you only want exact matches,just use advanced filter
    call both columns the same name and filter long list by criteria of short list
    select all rows and colour them or use the copy to another location
