    VLookup

I'm trying to do an assignment and I've been stuck on one step for an hour now.

My workbook has 2 sheets. A Purchase order and a product list. The Product List shows the model, type and price of the items that are available.

I need to do a look up function to look up the model type off the product list and put it into my purchase order. How do I do this?

    PC-Market

    Modems
    Product ID:
    1050

    Type: ISDN/DSL
    Model:
    Price:

    Quantity

    Shipping Options

    Shipping Cost

    Total Cost

To get the product type my professor said to type in=VLOOKUP(B5,ProductPrice,2)

I cannot figure out how to modify that string to get my model to come up Any tips?

    Thanks

Re: How do you make the V Look up work?

No it should bring up Eicon DIVA T/A ISDN Modem U interface external (RJ-45) ISDN modem
Instead depending on what I type in I get NA or REF or Lucent DSLPipe-HST 1-port SDSL-based router/bridge, 4 Ethernet, and 1 console port 2.3MB

I don't understand how I can get an answer but not be able to get the right answer

Better Post a dummy file so others can work on it.
    Thanks.

    Hi studentmomma,

    From your equation of

You must have a Named Range somewhere called "ProductPrice". Do you have such a range defined in your worksheet?

Also - Because you don't have a 4th argument (True or False) your data in ProductPrice must be sorted from small to big or from A to Z.
