Excel 03 highlight Vehicle Tax Date 30 days prior to date it runs out

    Hi

Please can someone advise how to set up a formula to highlight a date 30 days prior .

    Briefly,
I have a MOT due date of 31-Mar-12 in cell G18. In cell N1 I have a formula set for todays date when i open the worksheet i.e. =TODAY(). Is there a formula available so that when I open the worksheet daily at the appropriate timescale of 30 days before the MOT date of 31-Mar-12 changes the cell colour so that I can make people aware.

Sorry this sounds so lame but I am struggling with this

    Thank you very much

Select the range you want to action this on and in conditional formatting set the condition to a formula and use : =G18-30<$N$1 and set the format you want.
