    From days to weeks

    Hey everyone

I'm busy with my finances in excel but my previous version was incosistent. Meaning that my bank account has sometimes a lot more or a lot less money than my excel showed me I had.

Basically I had a weekly view but now I turned that to daily. So I put in my expenses and income per category for everyday. However I want excel to sum up every week so I can still work with my weekly view. The problem is that with offset I can't figure out how to make sure that it goes from monday to sunday and when I drag the formula to the other cells that it will shift to monday to sunday.

If I drag that sum then it will just go from monday to sunday, tuesday to monday, wednesday to tuesday of the same week.

How can I make sure my formula skips every 7 days from the previous one?

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
    Hope that helps.

I hope this gives enough information. Note to check both weekly and daily worksheets. Also please note that I loosely translated the known formula to english myself.

I wouldn't use that layout. Create a table style that acts as a ledger with dates in one column. Only add dates when a payment is made & then you can use a PivotTable

Hahaha well you wanted an example.
    1) I need this format because I make categories for the expenses and income. So some will be empty of that day and some will be filled
    2) the weekly is so I can see less detailed how much I spend per week etc
    3) I have no clue what a PivotTable is
