Update multiple cells based on value in another cell

I can usually figure out formulas so long as I know which one to use... But I don't know which one applies in this case.
I have a template that I was to reference from a seperate sheet, and I want to be able to just change the cell reference at the top of the template (which is the date) and have the rest of the template update with with the corresponding information in the same row as that cell.
So if on the template I change the date to reference A8, I want other cells in the template to automatically reference the data from the other cells in that row.
Does that make sense?
To me it sound seasy but I just can't crack it, can anyone help?

I think you want VLOOKUP. But your description is sketchy. It would help if you attached your file, or at least gave more detail about the data is laid out.

This is the file.... So I have the data on the "2011" sheet and the Template obviously on the "Template" sheet.
I want to be able to change the reference in Template B2 to any cell in column A on "2011" and have the cells J13, J15, J17 change to the corresponding cells on 2011.
Hope that help! I appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks. Your problem is simple but very hard to visualize from the description without seeing it.

See attached. This will only work properly if the date in B2 occurs no more than once in sheet 2011.
