    Index Formula

    A file that was not in Excel format. It was a delimited file. After I converted it most of my data on one line. However the Vendor ID and Vendor Address came out in the same column but on different rows. To explain more clearly is that the vendor id is on A2 and the address is on A3. I created two new columns B2 should be the column contains the data for the Vendor ID - that data will come from A2 go to B2. Then the C2 should be the column contains the data for the Vendor Address - that data will come from A3 go to C2. Since I started this somebody has given me a formula that almost works. It actually does what I want. But the results does not go in the correct row. I have attached a spreadsheet. The problem is that I have blanks in the spreadsheet. I can't sort it because I need to attach the Vendor ID and address to the customer first. - This may sound confusing so I have attached my spreadsheets with notes in it and arrows. Also, the formula I using for Column B and C. I don't have a formula for the zip code but if worse comes to worse for that I can move those up once I have Column B and C fixed. I done this once but didn't save it.

    Thanks so much!!!!

    Re: Index Formula

    How about in B2:

    =IF(MOD(ROW(),2)=0,A2,"")

    and in C2:

    =IF(MOD(ROW(),2)=0,A3,"")

    both copied down.
    Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Talking Re: Index Formula

    Thanks so much I can't tell you how much that helped. I have a second spreadsheet with customers but same layout. This will come in handy again.
