    Unique value from two cols from two tabs?

    The formula used to count the number of unique values in two columns in the same tab is easy and given by excel (2007) help, but how do I take two columns for two different tabs (or even workbooks) by a formula?

    the formula I would like to use is something like;
    =sum(if(frequency("tab1!H:H"&"tab2!H:H","tab1!H:H"&"tab2!H:H")>0,1))

    of course this does not work. Can someone help me make the combined columns I am trying to do work?

    Thanks

    I am loading an example spread sheet. It has 5 tabs. The first is where I am trying to solve the problem and show the answers. The third and fourth sheets are where the raw data is at. The fifth sheet is a combined list of the two data sets where I can find find the unique and common items.

    My goal is to past data into the data columns on each ' data' spreadsheet and find unique and common values (times in this case) across several data spreadsheets. I know how to do this using a single spread sheet and has been done on the combined spreadsheet, but I don't want to have to combine them into one sheet to do this.

    The final result of what I would like is in Summaries!F36 and F37. In Summaries!g36 is a formula that I would like to work. This formula would combine the data from several tab. This way I could avoid having to make a combined tab each time.

    I hope this is clear enough.

    Thanks
