    Consolidate -Crashes my spreadsheet?

    Hello all.
    1st of,, for cross posting purposes I have posted here;
    http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthr...76#post2922476
    (No reply yet,, but hey ho,, still early days) :-)

    Rather than retypr everything, I might as well just paste in what I've said,,, but basically I have 1 tab on the spreadsheet,, when I try to use the 'Consolidate' function,, it just hangs (Spreadsheet crashes),,, yet I've managed to use this function on 2 of the other tabs???
    Question is,,
    1.Why Is it Crashing?
    2. Can anybody tell me how I can get around it please.,,,,
    Here's my post;
    I have a spreadsheet here (Not finished yet but almost)
    It's an excel 2010 XLSM Workbook.
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16052166/Pro...0-%20Copy.xlsm

    Really need some advice as to why it won't consolidate some rows of data on 1 sheet,, yet I've managed to do this fine on other tabs in the workbook?

    It just won't consolidate rows on a tab called 3-PROJECTIONS (£)

    I've managed to do this fine on 2 other tabs called;
    2-PROJECTIONS (%)
    &
    4-PROJECTIONS (THE END)

    The Rows I would like to consolidate on the '3-PROJECTIONS (£)' sheet are;
    Rows 290:1250,,, (Start of Mth 13-End of Mth 48)
    I've done a lot of formatting on the sheet,, but everytime I try to consolidate these rows on the sheet '3-PROJECTIONS (£)' it just crashes????

    My next door neighbour has a macbook air with excel on.
    I heard that Macs (Never) crash,, they are extremely stable,,, I tried it on his Mac,,,
    It crashed!

    If somebody could just tell me please why it is crashing?
    & hopefully,, a solution?
    Maybe there's some (& this is just a guess) characters, like print characters somewhere,, or some formula it just doesn't like?,,,,, not sure why i'm thinking this as it might not be anything like this,,, just in my head,, thought I'd voice it.

    Thing is,,, if I can't consolidate the rows on this tab,, it means deleting the sheet and creating a new sheet with all the same formatting etc.
    I'm not really good in excel,, everything takes me ages to do (As I probably go about it the longest way),, and I know this would be like a days work,, as I'd have to copy cell formulas individually,, and there are merged cells so I just can't copy/paste etc

    I hope somebody can advice.
    I did google it,, but I haven't seen any solutions to consolidate errors.

    Again, link to my workbook is here;
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16052166/Pro...0-%20Copy.xlsm

    Many thanks for all you time;
    JC
    (Hope somebody can 'Sherlock Holmes' the error,,
    I just really can't see why it won't work)

    Re: Consolidate -Crashes my spreadsheet?

    Apologies to you all!!!!! Really really soory about this,,,,
    1. The download link was broken .
    2. I just don't believe it,, but I actually posted about 'CONSOLIDATE' when I meant 'GROUP'!!!! :-)

    So,, here is a download link (Working for my spreadsheet)
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16052166/Pro...-v3b-Copy.xlsm

    All I want to do is GROUP Rows 290:1250 in the sheet '3-PROJECTIONS (£)'

    That's it.
    I've managed to use the Group function on 2 of the other tabs(Sheets) fine.
    When I try it on the '3-PROJECTIONS (£)' sheet,,, it just hangs/crashes :-(

    If anybody knows why it could be doing this, or a solution to it please,, as I really would like to group these rows on this sheet.
    It should do it,, but it just won't.

    Sorry for the bad download link & wrong info in the 1st post,, man,, I think I'm losing it.

    Many thanks for all your time.
    PS.
    I have googled 'Excel Cannot Group Rows' but no real answers :-(

    I hope somebody can advise.
    Many Thanks
    TheGhost
