I thought that Microsoft had a DTPicker of their own?
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...49(VS.60).aspx
Marvin - the DateTimePicker control in Dropdown Calendar Mode on the link you provided is exactly what I want. Reading all the info about it is just too confusing. I never use excal and only need to create this one form, so it is crazy for me to try and learn all of this. Do you know if there is basically a point and click explanation for dummies?
RoyUK - am I correct in that the USER needs to add these on to their computer? I need something that is on the form itself, so that when sent to all salespeople with Excel, they can pick the date regardless of add ons.
Dear - Too Confusing, lets make it easy.
Click on the sheet you want the DTPicker on. Click on the Developer Tab. Click on Insert Icon. Click the More Controls Icon. Now for the hard part.
Find Microsoft Date Time Picker in that long list and click on it. This makes your mouse cursor change and you drag a rectangel on your sheet where you want to place the picker control.
Now it is on your sheet but what the heck do you do with it?
Click on the View Basic and couble click on the sheet that you just dropped the DTPicker on. There are two dropdown boxes at the top of the code window. Drop the left one down and change it from WorkSheet to DTPicker1. Dropdown the box just to the right of it and select Change.
Now you have a Private Sub for DTPicker1. I did a little code that puts the date selected in A1 (I know this as Cell(1,1)
Find the example and play with it until it makes sense. This is an easier way to show a calendar than the old way.
hope this example gets you through the "first time" problem.
When I try to insert the Microsoft Date Time Picker an error message comes up 'Cannot Insert Object'. I am using Excel 2007
Have you added the DTPicker to the references? Here is a link of the same problem with a few other suggestions.

My examples include a UserForm Calendar that can be adapted.
DTPicker does not normally need adding in the references, but is not available on all computers & afaik is not supported in Excel 2010. The ActiveX one is problematic
Marvin,
I have installed the DTPicker control. Unfortunately, when I open my file (Excel 2010), the DTPicker Control is distorted and I must resize the sheet zoom temporarilly or scroll the page down and back up for the DTPicker Control to be legible and usable. I have noticed this is a complaint in many forums but yet there doesn't seem to be a solution. Maybe you know of a solution?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
Hi Marvin,
I have installed this addin and it works great... with one exception. When I reopen the file (Excel 2010), the DTPicker control is distorted and unable to be accessed. The temporary solution that I have found in many forums is to change the zoom level or scroll the page down and back up. Once either of these methods have been done, the DTPicker control appears as formatted when designed and is usable. Do you know of a more permanent solution that would fix this issue?
Thank you in advance for any assistance provided!
