When I copy and paste to a new workbook, the column widths are the same as the original.
I can't reproduce your problem. What am I missing?

When I use sheet1.copy in a macro, or the equivalent:
Right click and choose 'move or copy...', then select 'New book' from 'move selected sheets; To book:' and check 'Create a copy'.
bump - I can work around this I'm sure, but it would be nice to understand why, has anyone had something similar happen to them?

If you PasteSpecial instead of create a copy in VBA I think you can get what you want. My recorded macro looks like
I think you just have to be mre specific in your paste line of VBA to insure the columns are the same width as the original columns![]()
