How to get value in cell (Mon Oct 13 22:12:56 EST 2011)

Hi All,

I have a query here, I am using Excel 2003.
Scenario1:
In A1 cell i gave =Today() I changed in format tab and it gave as Mon
In B1 cell i gave =Today() I changed in format tab and it gave as Oct
Now I want to club both A1 and B1, when i tried with CONCATENATE it is giving as some value(40847).Please can anyone through some inputs on this, I want Mon Oct in C1 cell.

Sceanario2:
I am using excel 2003 and in a cell I have to get as Mon Oct 13 22:12:56 EST 2011
Please someone help on this how to get this value in a cell.

For Scenario one, incorporate the TEXT() function

e.g. =TEXT(A1,"mmm") will result in OCT

for Scenario two, custom format the cell as: ddd mmm h:mm:ss "EST" yyyy

Put this value into one cell:

=NOW()

Then apply a custom format to that cell of

ddd mmm h:mm:s" EST "yyy
