Pivot table to count dates from two columns

Hi Guys,

I am trying to count the number of times a date occures in a list & compare it against another on.

Basically the first column is a list of milestone dates, the second column is the same milestones but with updated dates. (these will get updated monthly)
[MS Report latest, col K & L]

I want to stick these into a pivot table
then get a cumulative per week or month,
then run a pivot line graph to give me planned v current update.

I have managed to get the planned to cumulate every 7 days and plot a curve, but cant seem to get the second lot of data to pivot.

Any suggestions?

You will find attached the pivot table corrected :
- 2 columns grouped dates
- some format
Note : the x axis of the pivot chart is with the 2nd grouped dates
