    Finding Latest Available Data

I’m trying to come up with a way to pick out the latest value based on a series of dates.

So for example, in Col A, I have a daily date series for the month of October. In Col B, I have data corresponding to those dates. However, during weekend dates, there is no data. I’m trying to figure out a formula to give me the latest available data.

Please see the attached Excel sample.

    Some caveats:
    - I cannot remove the weekend dates with no data
    - I prefer not to use VBA / macros
    - I prefer not to use array formulas but will do so if need be
    - I am using Excel 2003

Thanks very much for any advice.

    Try:

    =LOOKUP(2,1/(B4:B34>0),B4:B34)
Where there is a will there are many ways.
