Matching Prices with Dates Formula Help!

Dear All,

I am trying to match the price of a commodity on a certain date (once a week) with the price of other commodities (that have prices 5 days a week) in one master sheet so that the dates coincide the master column of dates if you know what i mean...

I have attached a excel sheet with the problem and desired result.

Dear Tom,

Thank you very much for your prompt response, your formula worked for the commodities that matched the dates on a daily basis but for the US HRC prices which are only quoted once a week, it didn't. I would list the price of oct 19, 2011 on the 24th oct, 2011.

To simplify things, i have attached a new excel sheet based on the one you provided with a new sheet that has the US HRC Steel prices. I would like oct 19th 2011 prices to match with the oct 19th 2011 in the sheet labeled master.

I solved my problem using a slightly diff formula:

=IF( COUNTIF('US HRC Prices'!$A$3:$D$280,E1),VLOOKUP(E1,'US HRC Prices'!$A$3:$D$280,4,0),"Thank you for your help though.
