Question MIN IF including a FIND function but for 2003?

Hi! Just read the post for MIN and IF, but when I try the link, it doesn't seem to work in 2003?

My case is slightly different: 1) 2003 excel 2) I'm looking for text contained within that column (i.e. payroll % or en % de salaire) I just want to find rows with "%"

This is what I tried as an array formula, based on the link to Dailydoseexcel from the previous question, but I get a value error.

    {=MIN(IF(V1:V60,(SEARCH("100",V1:V60,1)),W1:W60),"")}

column V: as those text entries above, plus others that don't show %
column W has the numeric entries.

I made sure V was formatted as text and W as numeric...

Hope you can help me figure this out!

See if this thread and its links helps, if not post a sample workbook.
can a "MINIF" formula be built, equivalent to "SUMIFS"?

    The formulae work for 2003
The last post has an example 2003 workbook

Re: MIN IF including a FIND function but for 2003?

Hi! That's the one I already tried, and it didn't work for me. At the bottom was some help for 2003, so I followed it (formatting etc) but it didn't work.

realised in my formula i'd left 100, as I will have to do that one as well. sorry

ok trying attach the spreadsheet now!

Not sure what you are trying to do.
    See if this helps
In say E3 this array formula
    =MIN(IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(" % "," "&B3:B8&" ",1)),C3:C8,""))
Confirm with Ctrl+Shift+Enter not just Enter

Talking Re: MIN IF including a FIND function but for 2003?

YOU ARE BRILLIANT!!! Why does it need the ISNUMBER in it? especially when % is not a "number"? THANK YOU!!!
