I am trying to make a cell count only if "c" has a name and "g" has an X in the row that lines up with "C" colum. =COUNTIF(C:C,"James A")*IF(G:G,"X") this is what I am trying but it is not working. Thanks for the help

Mustafaine solution is OK, but please notice that:
1) IS Array Formula(trl+Shieft+Enter)
2) Not C:C, but C1:C65000(For Example)
3) One more ( )
Then works nice.

1. It's not an array formula and doesn't need to be entered with CSE
2. C:C will be slower than C1:C65000, but will still work
3. It has the right number of brackets.
