I've tried using VLookup to do this, but I can't seem to get it to work.
This is my spreadsheet:

What I want to be able to do is, on a separate worksheet, have an option to list all movies matching a certain criteria, eg List all movies with the language 'French' or list all movies between 1960-1969 etc (and have it list title, year, rating preferably).
Am I missing something with VLookup or do I need to use a different formula?
First, VLOOKUP value will return you only first value and no the others.
Second, we prefere .xls or .xlsx file. It hard to test in picture.
Third, try to look this example and see is this OK for you

Also note...
If you enter 1960-1969 for example it will return 0 result because it look for whole string.
Rather enter 196 and then it will include all that years (but also if there is a move 2196: A Space Odyssey (film))
All you need is extra column in original sheet (A column in my example) which can be hidden.
