    Extending the series of cells

I'm having trouble filling in cells through the auto-pull down option. I'm using information from another excel sheet so the cell will look like this: =‘sheetname’!$column$row

Unfortunately, when I'm trying to extend the series to fill, it just does the same column and row. Is there a way to make it auto add one from the other excel doc so I don't have to edit each one on my own.

    Ex.
    ‘sheetname’!$column1$row1
    ‘sheetname’!$column1$row2

    Thank you in advance.

Its probably the $ signs which are causing you the problems as these are interpreted as absolute addresses.

Try removing the one before the row value.
