    Gantt/schedule chart with single series

    Hi,

I am looking to create a schedule in Excel quite similar to a Gantt chart. The only difference is that I would like my schedule to be on a single series(bar) on my chart instead of on multiple bars. I have attached a screenshot to show an example of the format I am referring to (I have done this manually). I had originally tried to do this with MS Visio but wasnt succuessful so I am now exploring a solution in Excel. Within the chart options, a stacked bar chart seems to only have a maximum of two values applicable but for my purpose I need the option of potentially 100!
Can anyone think of an approach to do this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi David Mackle

    It can be done.

Here is a sample file attached where you have to adjust the colors manually by name.

However, it could probably be done systematically by creating a charting range by time period that looks up the name using the NA() function if they didn't work that hour.
