Reordering Text and Numbers in a Cell

In cell C12 I have an entry that reads: L22-263029

I need to make it look like this: L263029-22

I tried using this formula: =LEFT(C12,1)&RIGHT(C12,6)&"-"&MID(c12,2,2)

But, my formula doesn't work. Any help of why would be fantastic.

    Respectfully,

When you say it doesn't work, what does it give you? Unless you have hidden characters or blanks, it looks like it would work.
