Convert text to formula

I understand that you can convert a text string to an excel formula using the INDIRECT keyword.

I am constructing a rather complex equation which I want to work as I add new data. I am constructing the equation using the ADDRESS keyword and end up with a text version of the ultimate equation (which works when I copy and paste-value putting an = in front).

When I use the INDIRECT keyword I cannot get it to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Not quite with indirect... Indirect is used when you're trying to reference another cell that appears as text, doesn't quite work for equations.

That thread has a similar problem to it, and the solution was basically implementing the Evaluate command within VBA to assist.

You are misunderstanding the use of INDIRECT(). It does not work in the way you seem to think it does. i.e. it does not convert text equation strings to formulas.

It allows you to use text, which refers to a reference - but check out the standard Excel help on the function.
