The use of AI tools (e.g. chatGPT, BARD, GPT4 etc) to create forum answers is not permitted. If a user is believed to have used such tools to provide a forum answer, sanctions may be imposed.
HOW TO ATTACH YOUR SAMPLE WORKBOOK:Unregistered, Fast answers need clear examples. Post a small Excel sheet (not a picture) showing realistic & representative sample data WITHOUT confidential information (10-20 rows, not thousands...) and some manually calculated results. Hi and help
I'm self taught on Excel so have many gaps in my knowledge but I do have some clue. I have the following problem and hope someone can help me. I have the following table of data (also attached).

A B C D
1 Name Date Drinks Pies
2 Fred 1/1/10 5 4
3 Larry 1/1/10 8 56
4 Joe 1/1/10 99 3
5 Fred 2/2/10 4 2
6 Joe 2/2/10 1
7 Fred 3/3/10 3 5

I would like to be able to return the contents of the last cell containing data in column D for a the most recent occurance of a particular name in column A. For example the number of pies that Joe has most recently eaten, ie 3. The table is constantly added to from the bottom. In this way the date is in order but no other columns are and I would prefer to keep it that way. I have searched for a solution in forums with no luck, any advice would be most welcome.
