I have a large spreadsheet, some of which is pasted below. Is there a quick way of asking Excel to count the amount of Es or Ms. Thanks in advance, Chloe

=COUNTIF(D:D,"E")+=COUNTIF(D:D,"M")

assuming I've counted the columns correctly.

In the example, that would be 30.
