I am using Office 2003. My Excel has changed its operation. The format painter no longer works, Also when I try to move cells it copies instead. They have worked properly for years. I tried re-installing Excel, but that didn't help.

I move the cursor to the edge of the cell where it turns into a 4-headed arrow. I then click and drag to a new location. The result is, that the cell is copied, not moved. If the cell I tried to move was a formula, the result is as if I had copied and then pasted the value.
When I click on the 4-headed arrow it disappears. I don't remember if it used to do this.
Thanks.
Restored to previous restore point. Problems disappeared.
Sounds a bit like the good old Skype Click to Call problem.
That did all sorts of strange things to copy and paste.
You don't have to be using Click to Call, just have it installed. Thought it had been fixed but maybe not.

I don't know if I have "click to call" installed in Skype, znd I'm afraid to look.
If everything is working at present, you may have removed it or disabled it by going back to the Restore Point. Maybe just be aware for the future. To check, look in Control Panel, Programs.
Thanks for the rep.
