Date Selection in a Pivot Table

Hi,

I have an example data set and the corresponding Pivot Table as shown on the attachment.

This Pivot Table shows all references that fall into a specific stage of a process.

What I want to be able to add is a date selection so that the table will only show data which matches a specific date(e.g week commencing 05/09/2011).

Is there anyway to add a date selection to the Report Filter that is independent to either of the columns in the data set (e.g. if I select 05/09/2011 it will only show the numbers relative to this date)?

There will be hundreds of rows of data as well in the actual spreadsheet.
