How do I get 1/4 or 1/2 or 3/4 to work in the formula

    Hi

Spreadsheet I have just started on to work out jobs.

In the travel field I would like to be able to put in 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4 as this is far easier for us to put in & is easier for my teams t understand than 0.25, 0.5 or 0.75. But when I put in 1/2 I get the error ###### in my Total Hours & Total Pay.

Also if I put in 0.25 it rounds it down to 0 & 0.5 0r 0.75 rounds it up to 1.

Lastly is there a way for Work + Travel times £7.00 + Fuel to appear in the Total Pay box rather than have to use a Total Hours box first & do the formula from there.
    Phew...

    Appreciate any help?

Thanks, that work for 1/4 & 3/4 but 1/2 turns it into the smaller 1/2 ala like in Word & thus the formula doesn't work then, do you know how to switch that off?

I think I set up 1/2 to turn into the smaller version of itself in word as it wasn't working by default, seems to have carried over into excel for some reason.

    Hi,

Did you want to "Display as Fraction"?
