    Compare 2 columns Excel 2007

    Hi,
I'm trying to compare a value from column 1 has a match in column 2 and put the value asociated from column 3.

    I'm using

to insert in column B the value asociated from column D but it never finds the value from A in C.

    What could be wrong?

    Thanks

Check you don't have any leading or trailing spaces. Try this in a separate cell for comparing the value in A1 to B1:

The result must be True or else Excel doesn't see the values of the two cells as being the same.

Also I dislike to use semicolons instead of commas (I don't know if this is just a personal preference or a technical issue)

    Hope this helps.

What kind of values are they? Dates, text? Maybe post a small sample sheet

The values are text, email adresses.

If I don't use semicolon I get an error in Excel 2007, in 2003 it worked with commas.

Found the problem (thanks abousetta), it seems I had some spaces, I used this code

to remove spaces. Now it's ok.

    Thanks for the help !

If the error is #NA then it means that it can't find an exact match. The most likely scenario is that the emails are not identical in the two cells.
