Excel 2007 : Filter date regardless the years

I am going to filter the table by date which across 13 years. However, I just want the data that sorted by month and day only. For example, I am looking for data from Jan 1st to April 12th.

How could I filter the date regardless the years?

Use a "helper" column, and filter for TRUE (assuming dates are in the A column and begin in A1:

and can i do the same thing in custom filter? because i want the data shows immediately after i punch in the date range
