    Hi,

We always like to see your request in context, pictures are not really much use, non of us wish to recreate a workbook which you already have. Please therefore upload the workbook,

Show a before and after example in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!

    Hello Stewart.

The workbook is fine but I don't understand what you are trying to achieve. I'm assuming what you have is the before position but you've not shown what the 'after' position is.

You also mentioned row height and count range in the same breath. I don't understand. Please show what you expect to see along with some narrative as to how you arrive at the result.

    Regards

Sorry Stewart, that's just the picture you started out with. It doesn't explain, (to me at least) what exactly you expect from your data. Please supply a before and after position with notes as to how you get from one to the other.

Remember, whilst you may be totally au fait with your data, we come to this afresh. You need to explain a lot more.

    Regards

ok, I will try to simplify the question; is it possible to alter the range of a count function via an other value, ie

    A1:A3 has 3 2s:

    2
    2
    2

    B1 cell value is 3

the count funtion counts 3 rows (A1:A3) resulting in "6"

if B1 cell value is 2

the count funtion counts 2 rows (A1:A3) resulting in "4" etc...

    =sum(a1:index(a:a, b1))
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
