    Sales projection in excel

    Hi People

    I need to calculate a sales projection, but i really do not know how to do it.

    Please could someone assist

    I have attached a workbook.

    The cells highlighted in yellow indicates the projections that needs to be done. The cells highlighted in brown indicate the actuals for july and august thus far

    Do you mean actually forecasting? If so then you would base it on previous figures & allow for increase or decrease

    Yes it will be actual forecasting.

    But how do i do that? what formulas etc do i need to use?

    As Roy has stated, there's not really enough info to make an educated guess at future months. Forecasting and probability is almost entirely derived from past information with known variables. For instance, is July and August typical of the expected volume of payouts? Are there seasonal variations, ie is November and december expected to be quieter or busier than the summer months? are the staff numbers always constant and how do their costs come into it?

    Typically you would average previous months data at similar points in time to make a good guess at future forecasting, the 2 months worth of data you've supplied has some big deviations and wouldn't be a good example to forecast from
    Windows 7 using Office 2007 & 2010
