I set all sorts of cell properties in most of my spread sheets: Font, numeric format, alignment, et cetera

If I do a cut & paste, I lose all the source cell properties. Is there a way to avoid this?

Instead of cut & paste, I have been using copy & paste followed by putting blanks in all of the cells from which I did the copy. This takes time & is an annoying process.
