Excel 2007 : Adding text to cells

I would like to add .jpg to the end of text in 940 cells.
Please can someone let me know what is the best automated way of doing this.
I am a novice when it comes to formulas and the like so a full explanation would be greatly appreciated.

assuming text starts in a1
in b1 put =a1&".jpg"
drag down,
you can either leave it as that or copy/paste back over itself as paste special value's
