Bar of Pie Charts Exel 2010

Is there anyway to change the color of the data point in the bar of pie chart that the bar eminates from? It seems excel will automatically assign a color and although I can change the color of all the other points it won't allow me to change that one. I have numerous charts that i will be creating and would like each category to have a specific color. Even when I create a template to apply it is not consistent in the color assigned to the slice that has the bar attached. Any ideas?

How are you changing the colour of the other points?

I can select the pie, then select the Other's slice and format as normal.

When I select the Other slice and go into format data point, select fill and then try to click the solid fill button to change the color - as I do with every other slice- it will not allow me to select the solid fill button, of any of the other buttons under fill. I was wondering if there is a default or something set up that prevents me from changing it but I can't seem to find anything about it.

Not a default setting that I know of.

Can you post example of a workbook where you can not change the Other's slice.

Here's one. I would like to change the other slice to blue, but right clicking and trying to format data point to change the fill color doesn't work. Thanks for your help with this.

Looks like this might be a bug in the Pivot chart object.

When I select Solid fill the focus in the dialog is automatically moved to the Automatic fill option.

And it does not look like you can code around it.

Edit: The is a long winded way around it. Set all of the chart to the colour you want the Others slice. Then set the colour of all the other slices.
