    Help with Automated Database

    Hey,

I am a bit confused. I have made a mock-up of the database in the excel file. What I need is to enter data into the main database in the first sheet. Then it automatically enters the associate into the correct sheet (band) and the correct intersection within the sheet. I'm not yet good enough to know how to automate this using excel so I tried Access but I am still very new to it and this has not gone much better.

    Any help is much appreciated.

Your sample sheet is incomplete. The Band 5 - Band 8 sheets should show where/how the data is to be transferred in, manually mock them up based on the Database sheet.

Will re-upload the file when I get back, but I need the file so that when I enter an associate with What and How criteria, it automatically adds it to the right sheet and intersection between what and how.

    Oops, forgot.
Cross section names should be on this one.
Associate A and B should be in the Band Sheets as examples.

    Formulaic solution.

    1) Added "key columns" to your database. The formulas row 2 are just copied down the whole dataset to create unique keys.

    2) Each bordered section on the banded sheets contain a unique formula that draws in the matching data based on the key created in column L in the database and the cell's position within the bordered section. Each formula is edited in the top left box, the formula is copied to the rest of that section.

    3) As you edit the db, as long as the key columns are in place, the Band sheets will draw in the matching data in realtime.
