Opening a .csv or .tsv file, with different enclosure and escape chars than " and \?

I believe that when a .csv or .tsv file is opened, the default enclosure character is a double quote (") and the default escape character is the backslash (\).

How can you open a .csv or .tsv file, but with different values for those characters? Or no values for them?

Why not open it and then convert the offending characters? Just a thought.

I'm not sure what you mean by "convert" the characters?

The characters would be removed anyway. If you open a file it automatically uses double quotes as enclosures. They are removed after the opening. If you want to leave double quotes as-is and not treat them as enclosures, you can't.
