    Supply/Demand Formula Help

Some friends and I are trying to create a game with one another through excel. The idea is that we all would come up with a fake company...lets call mine Jason Enterprises. We all start with a set amount of shares of stock (say 5000). The starting value of all the shares is the same (say $10). We all also start with the same budget (say $100000). We plan on running the game monthly with each of us having a turn as the 'StockMaster'. The idea is that every day we each send out 'buy' or 'sell' tickets for shares of one another's stocks. The StockMaster will input everyone's 'buy' or 'sell' tickets into a master spreadsheet (although I will most likely just create some sort of vlookup to pull from the sheets). We then need the master spreadsheet to fluctuate stock prices and total shares for everyone's company based on what was bought and sold. If say 1000 shares of Jason Enterprises is purchased, then the stock would go up $1. If 2000 shares of Jason Enterprises are sold, then the stock would go down $2. At the end of the month, the person that has made the most money will win the game. I am completely stuck on how to write the formula(s) in the master spreadsheet to do these tabulations though. I started by creating a basic table with all the company names, starting shares, and starting share value. I just can't figure out where to go from there. Help is much appreciated.

    Re: Supply/Demand Formula Help

Here is a rough overview in the attachment. Where I am stuck is getting the items I circled in red on the Overview tab to move up or down based on whether they were bought in sold from each person's individual tabs. I need shares to decrease when purchased, and stock price to increase. I need shares to increase when sold, and stock price to decrease. The shares of stock can never go below 0 though.

My example sheet is very rough draft as we are honestly trying to see if we can even get the master formula for supply/demand to work before creating all the other aspects. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

1/ How can shares decrease when purchased? This is relative.Simple logic says Seller = Decrease in stock when sold,Buyer increse in stock when purchased.
2/ Stock prices are not related to volume of trade but it can be the other way around. There are many factors effecting the stock prices and company performance is one of the major indicators.I do not see clear outline in you query .

While I sincerely appreciate you jumping in to help, I think you are missing the point of my question. This has nothing to do with the real stock market at all. We are creating a simplistic game of stock trading. We could buy or sell anything in this game, we just chose stocks because we like the idea of creating our own company to play the game. We create the companies (I made up the names, starting shares, starting capital, etc. for the dummy sheet). The ONLY thing that affects the stock prices in this game is whether they are bought or sold. When someone in the game buys stock, I want the stock price to increase. Likewise, if it is sold, then the stock price would decrease. If the amount of shares bought or sold for a particular company were equal (say 1000 bought, 1000 sold), then the price of the stock would be back at it's starting point. Make sense?

Is there a way to bump this up on the forum so someone else can see it?

I guess there is not a way to accomplish this?
