Fill down to a predetermined value

    Hi there

I'm creating a spreadsheet where I need to fill down a list of numbers, but each time new data is entered, the number of rows needed to be filled changes. This number is set up to be shown in a cell, so is there any formula I can use to tell Excel how many rows to fill down (i.e. the number shown in the cell)?

I'm trying to automate everything, so I don't want to just drag the fill box down as many as needed.

    Thanks for your help.

You can't use formulas to tell excel if a row should contain a formula or not.. you can do it with VBA, or you can have the cells prefilled with formulas that have an error trap built in that states to leave the cell blank if the row number exceeds the total rows that should be filled in.....

Ah thanks, the second suggestion was what I had in there, I guess it'll have to stay as it's the best I can do. Thanks for the help.
