advanced filter for two uneven columns

I've got two columns of text phrases. Attached is an example.

I want to find out which text phrases in column 1 are found in column 2. (exact match).

My procedure is:

(a) highlight cells A1 through C801
(b) click "advanced filter"
(c) click "copy to another location"
(d) List range shows as $A$1:$C:$801
(e) Criteria Range is $A$1:$A$479
(f) Copy to $C$1:$C$801
(g) Unique Records Only

Then when I run the filter, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
