Pulling data from separate sheet

How exactly should I go about doing this:

On sheet1 in Column B I have a random list of companies. On sheet2 I have those companies organized with their phone numbers. What I would like is whenever a particular company is typed into column B, I want Column C to populate their phone# from sheet2 column B. So, if say A3=Huggins Mitsubishi then search Sheet2 $A1 Huggins Mitsubishi and display their phone# from $B1 on Sheet2.

What formula should I use? lookup()?

Attached is a sample workbook of what I envision you described. See the formulas in the first sheet. Typing in a cell in column B a matching company name will bring in its phone number (and company code cuz I didn't know what you had in col A).

Ah that's awesome. I have never used the index() formula before. I swear you guys are the nicest most helpful community out there. I've learned boatloads of information from all your help. Very much appreciated.
