    Difference between =A1 and =+A1?

I've noticed this in some spreadsheets at work here that they have been using a "+" sign after the "=" like this:

    =+A1

    instead of just using:

    =A1

Just wondering if there is a difference? I don't seem to notice any difference.

There is no difference. Excel allows formula entry starting with + for compatibility with other spreadsheets, but adds = to the beginning.
