    Recurring Amount

How do I make a monthly recurring amount. Basically my brother pays me rent monthly I want to open up the excel page and just see how much he owes me now. If I put in $350 to I want that same box to say 2100 in six months if that is the next time I open the file. Then just keep auto adding $350 every month till he moves out the world end or what have you. This is for office 2007

List the dates down a column:

          ----B---- -C-- ---------D----------
      2 Date Amt
      3 6/1/2011 350 C3: Input
      4 7/1/2011 700 C4 and down: =C3+350
      5 8/1/2011 1050
      6 9/1/2011 1400
      7 10/1/2011 1750
      8 11/1/2011 2100

    Re: Recurring Amount

Basically what I got that is working from what you gave me is this
    a b
    1 date 350
    2 date =b1+b1
    3 date =b2+b1
    4 date =B3+b1
    5 date =B4+b1

this works but takes a while, but does allow for me to change one number if used for anything else

    Re: Recurring Amount

If you change the formula in B2 to =B1+B$1, you can just copy the formula down by selecting B2 and then dragging down the fill handle ( the little square at the bottom right when the cell is selected).
